The Celtic Year - Willow

Willow/Saille
15th April 12th May

The fifth, and possibly my favourite Celtic month as it runs through the most fertile and blossoming part of the year. It is such an auspicious time to truly enjoy the abundance of nature and love what the planet has to offer a vista of beauty.

Other Information
One of the 9 ‘firewoods’ of the Belfire.
Known as the ‘Tree of Immortality’ because it has the ability to grow a new tree from a fallen branch in moist ground.
A tree of ‘Death’, therefore, sacred to Hecate; added to the Belfire as a celebration of death.
The tree became known as the ‘Wtich’s Tree’ when the healing and religious qualities combined into legend by village wise-women.
